“When Nobody’s Home…” Understanding drug/alcohol dependency

This book “When Nobody’s Home…” is about getting people to understand and become aware of how traumatic experiences in childhood impact whether they choose to engage in long term to meet certain social/emotional needs. What I actually discovered was that it took the focus off the drug/alcohol consumption. Instead, I focused on traumatic experiences that lead up to the behavior and thought process of choosing illicit drugs. In the end, I want the client to wake up and understand their inability to make positive decisions is not their fault.Image
